I have officially decided that there is a plan for my life, and while I don't always know why things happen, or whats coming, I am at the point where I'm ready to trust the process. It was a series of unexpected, coincidental events that brought my husband and I together three times over the course of thirteen years (apparently we shouldn't fight it).
Continuing with that same thought, I'd like to introduce you to Carolina! The way we met was incredibly unexpected and random, but it didn't take long for us to discover how much we have in common - not only that we are both photographers, but our husbands worked in the same industry! At the point when we met, my company was still relatively new and Carolina was so generous to share some lessons that she had learned over the years... she immediately became a mentor!
Working as a creative poses a unique work environment. As you push to develop your company, there is a lot of time spent at a computer - in my case at home, in yoga pants, with two toddlers trying to use my workspace as their toy and food dumping ground. In such an isolated industry, it can be difficult to find and connect with other creative professionals so you can imagine my excitement when Carolina and I found each other.
Our friendship developed quickly but shortly after Carolina decided to move her amazing photography company (Carography) to the Tampa, Florida region. Just before she left, she allowed me to photograph her and her family... half of the shoot I did in film!! One of the first rolls of film I ever shot! At the time, the only rolls of film I had were a stock of film that is commonly used for street photography, not portraits. So the colors are slightly different then what you'll encounter on the rest of my site.... but here they are!!!
The remaining images were shot using my digital camera!
